Randomness & the 2nd book in The Dark Series
So, the Hallmark Channel has started their Christmas movies.
I am all for Christmas. While I love Christmas, I adore the buildup, the
sights, sounds, lights. It’s my favorite time of the year. I even walked up and
down the aisles of Christmas decorations at Walmart yesterday.
But even I am not ready for Christmas yet. I’m still on my
search for all things pumpkin! I can’t switch over to cranberry now!
Yet, I found gingerbread oatmeal, so I bought it. I also
bought Christmas ornaments for my daughter and nephews. It just doesn’t feel like Christmas time. It doesn’t
even feel like Fall. I’m ready for cooler temperatures, colorful, falling
leaves, and sweaters.
These are the thoughts swirling around in my head at the
moment. These and book ideas. I swear my mind is a cluttered, chaotic mess.
I’m working on the second book of Dark Secrets. And while in the first one, I laid the groundwork
out, I’m ready to delve deeper in this one.
Why is this a series? Why did I not just make the first book
a standalone? I’ve gotten asked that. It’s a series as with everything I want
to do, it’s too much for one book. Plus, I have always loved reading a series
for the fact that when I read, I really get involved with the characters. If it’s
a single book, I always want to know what they’re doing after everything has
been resolved. I like to be completely immersed in my world of fiction.
Totally random thought—I’m very random, just to throw that
out there—but I’m listening to music as I’m writing this. Now for some reason,
my iTunes doesn’t label some songs. I turn to Siri, so I can get exact names
and titles right as I must have everything labeled. Am I the only one that
after I ask Siri something that feels compelled to say, “thank you?”
Anyway…
If you’ve read Dark
Secrets, I am now in Kira’s head. Poor girl is having a hard time dealing
with all that has been thrown at her lately. But they all have. Not only will
this book delve more into Kira and Sawyer Randal, but also more into Lucien
Norwood, Gabe Meyer, and Ella Hopewell’s lives. While Dark Secrets focused on the secret of the twins’ magical powers,
there is still so much more to come out. That was just the beginning.
I hope you join me for the ride.
And now on this bright, sunny Sunday, I’m going to dive back
into my world of Willow Oak. I’ve got my music, coffee, and my cat begging for
attention. I have a feeling one of these is not going to help me focus!
