It's Beginning to Look a lot like Thanksgiving?

Image
Halloween is over, and it well and truly looks like Fall now. It’s been rainy here the past few days, and the leaves are actually very vibrant colors. It’s beautiful. And now we’re full on into the Christmas season. Hallmark is playing their movies continuously; Christmas commercials are showing on nearly every station. I’ve only seen a couple of Thanksgiving commercials, which makes me sad as I really love Thanksgiving. I’m never in charge of the meal—we always go to my grandma’s—but there’s something about this time of year. It’s peaceful. It’s not the melee that Black Friday brings or the days in December when it’s hard to even find a parking space at a store. It’s the calm before the storm. Don’t get me wrong. I love sitting in a room illuminated by a Christmas tree, watching cheesy holiday movies, but I don’t like the mad rush for trying to find gifts or trying to make it to everything in a jammed packed schedule. So, this is the time of year I relish, but ...

Randomness & the 2nd book in The Dark Series

So, the Hallmark Channel has started their Christmas movies. I am all for Christmas. While I love Christmas, I adore the buildup, the sights, sounds, lights. It’s my favorite time of the year. I even walked up and down the aisles of Christmas decorations at Walmart yesterday. But even I am not ready for Christmas yet. I’m still on my search for all things pumpkin! I swear my mind is a cluttered, chaotic mess. I’m working on the second book of Dark Secrets . And while in the first one, I laid the groundwork out, I’m ready to delve deeper in this one. Why is this a series? Why did I ...

I don’t really care for Vicky, but that probably stems from when my brother was young. He couldn’t pronounce my name as he had a bad speech problem. I was either “Hicky” or “Dicky,” which went over so well in a group of friends. So embarrassing. But that was then. Now, I’m just me, the woman who has an addictive personality. By that I mean when I get involved in something, it basically becomes my sole focus, my obsession of the moment. The first one I remember was reading anything and everything that Madeline Baker wrote, which turned into an obsession with reading any western romance novel I could get my hands on. Then I moved on to Mary Higgins Clark and then Dean Koontz. My last major obsession with an author was Johanna Lindsey. Oh, I’ve liked and loved other books and authors, but not to th...
